All about me

I am Jennifer Stones but a lot Of people call me Jen. That includes you. I live in Hampshire, and I am 30 years of age. I started Crochet in London about 2-3 years ago. I went to a craft exhibition with my mum at the excel centre. Whilst our husbands were in the pub.
I choose crochet because I wanted to do something different. My mum knits and did try it but wasn’t for me.
My family history is full of creative people in all aspects.
My nan is my inspiration, She is amazing. She had always got me doing something (no time to be bored there was always something to do than TV)
Nan got me started on scrap booking, nan will always take us out to different places.
I remember when nan was cross stitching and thought I would give that ago, but back then I thought it was boring. Now I do it all the time to break up other craft hobbies I have.
Ill always remember nan having a workshop built (its not a shed! :)) my dad and uncles all had been involved and help build it in and outside. It was a beautiful summer day and I made sure I helped dad.
When nan had it up and all her craft supplies in there, it was an aladdins cave. When I went around and visit nan in the summer I always hang out in there, listening to the radio and either learning to draw or on the sewing machine with nan. Yes another craft we used to make things from fabric too. Which started to make my own cushion covers and other items.
I always looked at nan's workshop and thought I will have a place like that one day. That day is still to come.
When mum and I finished in at the craft show we met up with the men. My husband Ady and I love that pub. We spent new year in there and met some amazing people from different countries.
Anyway I remember Ady and my step dad chatting about MY win on the Grand national that day, whilst mum was showing me the basics of crochet.
I went home and went on youtube and watched so many videos if doing so many stitches. Wow it was hard at first.

I decided to get my first pattern which was my unicorn. I love unicorns since I saw despicable me. ITS SO FLUFFY!!!

Not bad for a first amigurumi I was very pleased. If I did it again, which is most likely There would be a few changed. Like the mane and not stuffing it too much.

Whenever I was stuck on a curtain place on the pattern I would just go to youtube. But you have to make sure you follow the right abbreviations. You have American and then English. Then when I made a table to make sure I was doing both abbreviation.

The above table only shows a few abbreviations, but I will go in further detail as my blog goes on. With photos and videos to show too.
